Who We Are

We are part of Youth Stewards for Nature (YSN), an annual programme that empowerrs youths to develop various City in Nature initiatives with NParks.

With the support of our AVS mentors, we rolled out a photography competition centering around community cats.

We hope to educate the general public about community cats, dispell myths, and cultivate a positive image of our furry friends!

This isn't just our community – it's theirs too.

What are community cats?

Community cats are usually found in our living environment and there are community cat caregivers who care for these cats. However, community cats are not always welcomed or accepted by residents, which can lead to conflicts between people and also put community cats at risk.

Through this photography competition, we aim to capture the beauty of coexistence – showing the world that community cats deserve compassion, not cruelty.

Facts about community cats!

Community cats can be identified by a tipped left ear. This is done when cats are sterilised and released back into the community. Read more about the Cat Management Framework in Singapore here!

Community cats live in our neighbourhood and are often cared for and fed by passionate caregivers. Our void decks and parks are what they call home.
