The National Parks Board (together with the Youth Stewards for Nature 2025’s
Community Cats in the Spotlight committee ("we", "our", or "us") , is committed to
protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012
(PDPA) of Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data when you visit our website or participate in our photo competition.

1. Personal Data We Collect

"Personal Data" means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified
from that data alone or with other information.

  • Photographs submitted for the competition

  • Parent/Guardian’s full name and telephone number

  • To administer and manage your participation in our photo competition

  • To verify your identity and eligibility to participate in the photo competition

  • (For parents) To verify your child’s eligibility to participate in the photo competition

  • To publish winning or shortlisted entries (with your consent)

  • To issue prizes or awards

  • To conduct marketing or promotional communications (only with your consent)

  • To analyse usage patterns and improve our services

3. Consent

By submitting your entry, you consent / (if your child is below 18 years of age) you consent on behalf of your child to our collection, use, and disclosure of the personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose the personal data to:

  • Our team members and authorised personnel involved in managing the competition

  • Appointed judges and panelists for evaluating submissions

  • Third-party service providers (e.g., hosting providers, email service vendors)

  • The public, but only where you have consented (e.g., name and photo on winners' page)

 

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Thereafter, we will securely delete or anonymise your data.
